Kris and Danel met early in their first year at UBC in 2010, bonding over a shared passion for music and oddball humour. They shared many transformative experiences and were roommates for many years. They would most likely still live together to this day if their significant others had not convinced them to make better life choices.

Vlad Yanhursky
Groomsman

Vlad and Dan met in 2010 during the first days of university. Over the past 15 years their lives intersected in happy and surprising ways. Some standout memories include:

- Sharing many great friends in college

- Meeting their life partners during the same week in 2012.

- Running into each other in two different international airports

- Ending up in the same band and playing a show together

- Being cat dads

- Getting their Canadian citizenship in the same month.

Vlad is excited to celebrate Chloe and Daniel in September, and looks forward to all the future adult milestones they’ll reach alongside each other.

Austin Aplin
Groomsman

Austin and Daniel first met many moons ago as a result of their joint passion for world cinema at university. Being both gentlemen of leisure and good taste they quickly struck up a close friendship and since then their lives have become hopelessly intertwined. As it happens, Austin had also become good friends with the lovely and talented Chloe at around the same time, through whose careful guidance and persistence Austin met one of their close friends and his now-wife Emma. Over the years the four of them have spent countless treasured hours together on peaceful island getaways, visiting world heritage sites, and whiling away the time yapping at the TV.

Austin couldn’t be more honoured to be part of such a glorious union of minds and hearts! Felicitações!!!

Patrick Bull
Groomsman

A relative newcomer in Daniel’s life, Patrick was initially wary there was only room in this friend group for one tall mustachioed man. He was pleasantly surprised then to find such a warm and caring welcome from Daniel and the past four years have seen them bond over their shared love of cats, Paul Simon, Caiprinhas, and the films of Brian De Palma. He loves to talk about fashion history or swim in cold water with Chloe, and he loves to join her in needling Daniel to do the dishes when we’re up at Bowen.

Patrick is filled with love and pride for Daniel & Chloe as they take the next step in their lifelong journey together and pledges to support them in their married life in any way he can.
