The
Bridal Party

Emma Aplin
Maid of Honour
emma1_edited.jpg

Emma and Chloe know each other because they lived together for many years. Emma was physically in the house a lot when Chloe and Daniel first started dating and sort of noticed this guy was coming around a lot. She soon became their full-time third wheel. In 2019, after Chloe set Emma up with her now-husband, they repaid her kindness by fleeing the country, moving 7,000 km away to London, where they currently live with their fragile dog. Emma takes her maid of honour duties seriously and promises to keep the bride hydrated and legally married to the correct person.

If you know Chloe, you know she’s the funniest person in any room. As her younger sister, I’ve had a front-row seat to her comedic genius (and occasional chaos) my whole life. Even though we’re polar opposites, our love for each has created a bond that I cherish deeply. Chloe has an incredible ability to make even the most ordinary days unforgettable. I have always looked up to her for all things fashion, cooking, history, and well, pretty much everything. She’s basically my living, breathing encyclopedia.

But beyond the laughter, I’ve had the privilege of watching Chloe and Daniel build something truly special over the last 10 years. Their love is effortless, unwavering, and exactly what you’d hope for in a soul mate. They lift each other up, support each other through everything, and still manage to make each other laugh every single day. It’s been inspiring to witness, and I couldn’t be happier that they’ve found their forever in each other.

After years of waiting, I’m finally gaining the brother I’ve always wanted! Daniel and I bond primarily over soccer, but also our shared love for Chloe and all her goofiness. I couldn’t be more thrilled to have you officially in the family, Daniel. Let’s get this wedding started and celebrate these two amazing people!

A close friend of the bride and groom since the ancient times of undergrad, Mai has had the honour of witnessing 12 years of Chloe and Daniel’s glorious, eccentric, food-filled, and adventure-packed love story. She’s excited to stand beside them as they level up from long-time lovebirds to officially hitched life partners alongside her partner Kris (the best man).

Over the years, the four of them have built a beautiful friendship through camping trips, Galiano Island getaways, mushroom foraging, shared pet obsessions, and meals that somehow always turn into feasts. Mai has treasured every bizarre inside joke, every tasty bite, and every thoughtful shared moment with Chloe and Daniel.

She’s ready to bring her type A energy, snacks, sparkle, and the occasional Jewish reference. And while she promises not to quote The Office too often, she does feel God in this Chili’s tonight. Let’s get these two wed!

Rachel and Chloe became friends in middle school and bonded over their superior taste in music, love of photography, and general shared preteen snarkiness. The friendship grew and endured the test of time and distance, as Rachel went to college in Seattle and Chloe did in Vancouver. Rachel’s Mini Cooper crossed the Canadian border many times and Chloe slept on Rachel’s apartment couch even more times. When Daniel came into the picture, he felt like an additional friend as much as Chloe’s beau. Nearly twenty years after initially meeting, Rachel and Chloe continue to go to Death Cab for Cutie shows together and cry out of pure sentimentality and gratitude for each other. Mostly, Rachel doesn’t know what she’d do without Chloe in her life.

I’m Sarah, *arguably* Chloe’s oldest friend. I’m a children’s book illustrator who also works teaching at Emily Carr University. I met Chloe at a birthday party that neither of us wanted to really be at when I was a freshman and she was in 8th grade. We immediately bonded over being haters and never looked back. We’ve had many good times, and many dumb times since!!

I’ve known Chloe more than half my life, and she’s the reason I ended up also living in Vancouver. One time, while visiting Chloe here, I ended up having a look at Emily Carr out of curiosity. When it was time to apply to grad school, it was still on my radar. In some ways I owe my job teaching at the university to Chloe, so thanks!!

Emily is Chloe’s cousin, and growing up, Chloe might have found her a little annoying (it’s a rite of passage). But somewhere around college, they became best buds, especially after a Vancouver trip where Chloe and Daniel took a heartbroken Emily under their wing for a week. Their annual Cape Cod reunions are the highlight of the year, and Emily always looks forward to Chloe effortlessly lighting up every room with her chill vibes and on-point wisdom. Now, both engaged, they’ve been swapping wedding plans—and even better gossip than usual ;)
